CEC of Armenia: Serzh Sarkisyan has won 52.86% of votes

After processing of 100% of ballot papers, it became clear that Serzh Sarkisyan, prime minister and chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia, has won 52.86% of the votes, as reported by Garegin Azaryan, Chairman of the CEC of Armenia.

According to the CEC of Armenia, as of 11:52 a.m. of Wednesday, a total of 863,544 votes were cast for Serzh Sarkisyan, 351,306 votes (21.5%) - for ex-President of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan, 272,256 (11.666%) - for Arthur Bagdasaryan, leader of the "Orinats Erkir" opposition party, and 100,876 votes (6.12%) - for Vaan Ovannisyan, candidate from the Armenian National Front (ANF) "Dashnaktsutyun".

A total of 20,939 votes, or 1.28%, were cast for Vazgen Manukyan, leader of the Party "National-Democratic Union", 7,473 votes, or 0.46% - for Artashes Gegamyan, Chairman of the "National Unity", 3,092 votes, or 0.19% - for Aram Arutyunyan, head of the "National Consent" Party, 4,359 votes, or 0.27% - for Arman Melikyan, ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nagorno-Karabakh, and 9,754 votes, or 0.6% - for Tigran Karapetyan, leader of the People's Party.

According to the CEC, the voter turnout was 1,670,656 persons, a total of 2,390,000 ballot papers were handed out to the territorial electoral commissions, 720,254 ballot papers were cancelled as unused, and 34,849 ballot papers were recognized void. The number of discrepancies made 6,438.

Two out of nine members of the CEC - representatives of the Parties "Heritage" and "Country of Legality" - refused to sign the final protocol of the Central Electoral Commission on the outcomes of the presidential election in Armenia.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that Hamlet Abramyan, representative of the ANFD and Deputy Chairman of the CEC, has signed the protocol, but expressed his dissenting opinion on the outcomes of the election.
