Party in power "Eni Azerbaijan" complains of poetry of convicted journalist

The ruling party "Eni Azerbaijan" has filed a complaint to the Board for the Press (BP) against satirical verses of poet Mirza Sakit (Zakhidov), who is now in prison.

A. Amashov, head of the BP, explained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the "Eni Azerbaijan" found M. Sakit's verses published in the "Azadlyg" newspaper to be an insult and asked to take measures against this newspaper. He added that the BP had promised to consider this issue.

We remind you that satirist Mirza Sakit (Zakhidov) was recognized to be a prisoner of conscience by local and international human rights organizations.
