President of Czechia finds Georgia responsible for conflict in Caucasus

The aggravation of situation around South Ossetia has taken place for the guilt of Georgian politicians, said President of Czechia Vaclav Klaus in his interview published on August 18 in the Prague-based newspaper "Mlada Front Dnes".

"The fatal role of Georgian President, government and parliament in unleashing the war is beyond any debate," Vaclav Klaus has emphasized. "It's not enough to say that I'm concerned with the latest events in the Caucasus. This is too little to characterize my strong feelings caused by the events. Precisely speaking, I'm scared by what happens in Georgia. It concerns the action proper, and the way they are interpreted politically and in media."

The Czech leader believes it necessary to immediately stop all the warfare in Georgia, the ITAR-TASS reports.

"A long-term solution of the problem cannot be built on lie, even if it seems acceptable for us or our allies in implementing our current or long-term strategic geopolitical interests," President of Czechia said. "Lying to oneself or public is inadmissible. This practice has failed in Iraq, on the Balkans and in other conflict zones. It will for sure fail in Georgia too. It's not just hypocrisy, but it's also very dangerous from all the viewpoints."
