Yuri Budanov's early release rejected again
The court of the city of Dimitrovgrad (Ulyanovsk Region) has denied the petition on conditional-early release of former Colonel Yuri Budanov.
The "Caucasian Knot" reported earlier that Yuri Budanov had already lodged petitions on early release. In particular, the court rejected similar Budanov's petitions in May and April this year, and in August last year and in October 2003. In May and September 2004 he twice submitted pardon petitions but then recalled them.
The refusal to release Budanov was reported to the "Interfax" today at the press service of the Regional Administration for Enforcing Punishments.
We remind you that since 2004 Yuri Budanov serves his term in Colony No. 3 of the city of Dimitrovgrad. On July 25, 2003, the court found the ex-Colonel guilty of kidnapping and murdering Chechen girl Elza Kungaeva and sentenced him to 10 years of imprisonment. There were also evidences that before her death the girl had been raped, but later the investigation chose not to consider this episode.
The court also deprived Budanov of the colonel rank, Order of Courage and right to take certain posts for 3 years.
