Prosecutor's Office recognizes that victims' property in Dubrovka was plundered

The Prosecutor's Office of Moscow has recognized the fact that the property of the victims of the Dubrovka terror act was plundered. Advocate of the suffered party Igor Trunov said that such statement was made by the spokesman of the Prosecutor's Office of Moscow.

According to Mr Trunov, today at the sitting of the Zamoskvoretskiy Court, the Prosecutor's Office has presented a number of statements, including those regarding a certain employee of law enforcement bodies who had been attracted to the investigation of plundering the belongings of former hostages. This employee later perished in a road accident, and the case was suspended.

Besides, the ITAR-TASS reports that Igor Trunov has added that the Prosecutor's Office had stated that the Investigatory Committee, as an independent legal entity, should be respondent in the case. However, the judge has rejected this objection, since as on the moment of the crime the Investigatory Committee did not exist yet.

The victims' advocate has asked to present to the court materials relating to marauding and documents on the manner the exhibit had been stored. The court has obliged the respondent to present them.

The Infox.ru reports that in total 15 persons have lodged claims against the Government and the Prosecutor's Office on marauding in Dubrovka. Today, the court has considered the cases of first two claimants - Ekaterina Dolgaya, who demands a compensation of 662,300 roubles, and family of Maxim Mikhailov, who perished in the terror act. The latter demand compensation of 526,000 roubles.
