USA is ready to give air to Azerbaijani broadcasters in exchange of foreign broadcasting in Azerbaijan

The US Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) is ready to provide space for Azerbaijani broadcasters in the Azerbaijani and English languages over the States in exchange of renewal of broadcasting of foreign radio stations over Azerbaijan. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that this statement was made on February 11 by Ann Dears, US Ambassador in Baku.

"This week, the delegation of the BBG has held in Baku fruitful negotiations on broadcasting in Azerbaijan of Voice of America and BBC," Ms Ambassador has announced.

According to the proposal, the Azerbaijani broadcasters will get an opportunity to broadcast their programmes in the Azerbaijani and English languages over the USA in the FM frequencies, and in short and medium waves.

"It would be a good opportunity of informing American audience about Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani culture, history and modern realities of the country," said the Ambassador. She expressed her hope that the negotiations "would in the long run end successfully."
