In Armenia, opposition discusses putting political prisoners on electoral list
The Armenian National Congress (ANC) is discussing the issue of participation of political prisoners in elections of deputies of the Yerevan City Council. Armand Musinyan, press secretary of the ANC, has informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about it.
According to his story, the point is the participation in elections and entrance into the proportional list of the Armenian National Congress of those political prisoners, in relation to which the court verdict has not yet come into force. Besides, the Congress takes into account the procedure approved by the law, according to which only the persons who have officially lived in Yerevan for at least three years can run for the post of Mayor.
It is not excluded that the ANC list will include: Gagik Dzhangiryan, former Deputy General Public Prosecutor, and also the figurants of the "Case of Seven" Suren Sirunyan, Shant Arutyunyan, Deputies of the National Assembly Akop Akopyan and Miasnik Malkhasyan, and ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexander Arzumanyan.
