Resident of Belokan District of Azerbaijan states forced Shiitization of Sunnite Moslems

Azerbaijan pursues the policy of forced Shiitization of Moslems-Sunnites, indigenous Dagestanians, who inhabit their lands. This was stated by Magomed Ismailov, a resident of the Belokan District of Azerbaijan, who studies in one of Makhachkala higher schools.

Ismailov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that in Kabakhcholi village, Belokan District of Azerbaijan, the imam of the central mosque Magomed Khutraev openly calls local Moslems-Sunnites to pass over to Shiism.

The imam insists that sermons should be conducted exclusively in the Azerbaijani language; also he stands for introduction of the triple pray, typical for Shiites. Under his initiative, the funeral rituals and ceremonies are already conducted under the Shiite tradition, as the source said.
