Residents of Ingushetia hold picket demanding to stop kidnappings

On April 15, at the monument to victims to political repressions, located between the cities of Nazran and Magas in Ingushetia, a protest action was conducted by relatives of the young people, kidnapped during the last week in the Malgobek District.

We remind you that four young men, aged 20-25, disappeared under unidentified circumstances on April 10. They left their homes, each on his own business, and never came back. The worried parents addressed law enforcement bodies. However, either on that day or later, nothing became known about their whereabouts.

About 50 persons rallied for the picket. They held posters: "No to arbitrariness!", "No to kidnappings!", "Save youth of Ingushetia!", "Stop genocide of Ingush people!", as the Institute named the "Collective Action" reports.

The "Regnum" Agency reports that relatives of Gapur Tankiev, a resident of Malgobek, kidnapped on April 3 from that city, were among the picketers. "I came to the picket to voice against kidnapping. For the 12th day already we know nothing about my son. There is an impression that they try to bring us back to the state of 2004-2005. The Republic has some special agencies acting out of control by local authorities and law enforcement bodies," mother of kidnapped Gapur Tankiev believes that her son's kidnapping had to do with certain actions of these agencies.

The "Kasparov.Ru" writes that the picket was surrounded by some 50 militiamen who did not interfere with the action. However, the "Ingushetia.Org" adds that there was no data about any reaction of the authorities of the city and presidential administration on demands of the relatives.
