Relatives of suspects of murdering Politkovskaya promise 100,000 US dollars for information about real killers

Relatives of Ibragim and Dzhabrail Makhmudovs, former defendants in Anna Politkovskaya's murder case, have announced remuneration for any information connected with this crime.

We remind you that on February 20 Evgeniy Zubov, judge of the Moscow Regional Military Court, on the basis of the acquittal verdict passed by jurymen recognized the four defendants in this case innocent on all episodes of the indictment. The case was returned to inspectors for a new investigation and establishments of the persons involved in the crime. The General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation has appealed against the acquittal verdict.

Relatives of Ibragim and Dzhabrail Makhmudovs, who had once been detained as suspects of Anna Politkovskaya's murder, now placed an announcement in the newspaper "Capital Plus", published in the city of Grozny, with a promise "of compensation in the sum of 100,000 US dollars" to those who possesses "information about true murderers of the 'Novaya Gazeta' newspaper."

For any details the relatives also guarantee "confidentiality through oath on the Koran", as the "Interfax" reports.
