Moscow City Court to start considering the case of Chechen separatists' web site author on May 3
On May 3, the Moscow City Court will start considering the defence and accusation complaints on the verdict to Boris Stomakhin, author of the "Kavkaz Center" Chechen separatists' web site. Alexei Golubev, the convict's advocate, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about it. According to Mr. Golubev, he was informed on the date of the session at the Butyrskiy District Court of Moscow, which had sentenced the supporter of Chechen armed underground to five years of deprivation of freedom in a general custody colony.
The defence demands a complete acquittal of the journalist. On the contrary, the Prosecutor's Office finds the verdict too lenient - in the court, the accusation claimed for seven years of imprisonment for Stomakhin.
We remind you that the "Caucasian Knot" reported earlier that on the 20th of last November, Boris Stomakhin, co-chairman of the Revolutionary Contact Association and editor-in-chief of the "Radical Politics" bulletin, was found guilty of exciting nationalistic and religious hatred and appeals to extremist activities, accomplished publicly with the use of mass media.
