Supreme Court of North Ossetia upholds amnesty to militiamen
The Judicial Collegium of the Supreme Court of North Ossetia has rejected the complaint of the victims against amnestying of the militiamen accused of negligence that had entailed the act of terror in Beslan.
"The Court has defined that the decision of the Provoberezhny Court of May 29, 2007, about termination of the criminal case in relation to Miroslav Aidarov, Taimuraz Murtazov and Guram Dryaev because of the amnesty act should remain in force," the chairing Judge Tseboev has stated, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
Mr Tseboev has explained that the amnesty act applied to the defendants does not means their rehabilitation, the "Gazeta.Ru" informs.
"It does not acquit them. It means that their guilt was recognized, and they do not deny their guilt," he added.
The "Caucasian Knot" has already informed that on June 6 the victims of the terror act on September 1-3, 2004, filed a complaint against the decision of the Pravoberezhny Court to amnesty the militiamen accused of negligence that has entailed death of people.
