Irakliy Okruashvili's defenders were not admitted to the courtroom
The advocates of the former Georgian Minister of Defence Irakliy Okruashvili were not admitted into the courtroom, where his freedom restriction measure was decided.
This was reported to journalists by Eka Beseliya, ex-Minister's advocate, before she left the territory of the Tbilisi City Court, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
"They've already started undertaking actions against us, which are absolutely prohibited by the law. What sort of legal estimate can I give to the fact that the defence is not allowed to be present at the trial?" Ms Beseliya has stated.
The defendant himself will not be present at the trial. Earlier, Irakliy Okruashvili has expressed his distrust to the investigation and the court and refused to appear in the courtroom, the "Strana.Ru" reports.
"We've been officially warned about our criminal liability for disclosure of the investigation materials, however, Deputy General Public Prosecutor of Georgia is performing on the TV and discloses the details of defendants' interrogation," Eka Beseliya said.
