Trial of Irakli Okruashvili to start in Georgia on November 16
The trial over Irakli Okruashvili, leader of the opposition party "Movement for United Georgia", former Georgian Minister of Defense who is currently in Germany, is scheduled for November 16.
According to Eki Besselyia, Okruashvili's lawyer, the Okruashvili family have already been served the summons, reports the "Georgia Online" IA.
Meanwhile, the "Echo of Moscow" reports that the oppositionist's lawyers do not know yet whether their defendant is going to come from Germany to Tbilisi to attend the trial.
The Georgian prosecutor's office notes that Okruashvili still remains under investigation and, unless he appears in court on demand, the 10 million lari bail will go into the state budget while Okruashvili will be announced as wanted.
