Georgia: second Okruashvili's sentence in absentia to arrest

In Georgia, the Tbilisi City Court has satisfied the petition of the State Office of Public Prosecutor and ruled in absentia another pre-trial arrest for Irakliy Okruashvili, former Minister of Defence.

"The legislation does not assume to arrest one person twice. This is an absolutely incompetent and inadequate decision. Whatever petition is lodged by the Prosecutor's Office, the court is readily satisfying it," said Eka Beseliya, Irakliy Okruashvili's advocate.

At the trial on Friday, November 16, the pre-trial arrest was chosen for the second part of the case - charges of service negligence and bribery, the investigation on which continues. This is the information of the IA "Prime-News".

The "Caucasian Knot" has already informed that the court session was considering the petition of Okruashvili's advocate Eka Beseliya on postponing the start of the trial by one month.
