Armenia: editorial board of "Chorord Ishkhanutyun" accuses authorities of explosion

The editor-in-chief of the "Chorord Ishkhanutyun" (Fourth Power) newspaper, the office of which was blown up this night, thinks that members of the authorities are behind the explosion.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that Shoger Matevosyan, editor-in-chief of the oppositional newspaper, suspects Prefect Sedrakyan and the driver of the President of Armenia Serzh Sarkisyan of the explosion.

Ms Matevosyan has stated that the explosion that thundered at the door of the editorial board is connected with the resonant materials published by the newspaper. She has also reported that on the eve of the incident Mger Sedrakyan, Prefect of the Yerevan community "Erebuni", telephoned to the editorial board with threats.

Let us note here that the newspaper issue dated December 12 subjected the latter to sharp criticism for his activities both during the Soviet period and during the independence, having noticed that "every step of his carrier was related to some article of the Criminal Code."

In her words, despite the explosion at the door of the office, the next issue of the newspaper will appear strictly to the schedule, i.e., on December 14.

We remind you that today at about four o'clock in the morning an explosive was triggered at the door of the editorial board, as a result of the explosion the lattice on the door of the office was damaged and the window glasses were broken. On that moment, there was nobody of the employees inside the premises.
