Kidnapped person released for ransom in Georgia-Abkhazia conflict zone

Davis Nadaraya, a kidnapped resident of Shamgon village, Zugdidi District of Georgia, was released after a week of detainment in the Georgia-Abkhazia conflict zone.

His relatives paid a ransom for his release in the sum of 30,000 laris (about 20,000 US dollars). David Nadaraya is in a grave condition and now is under medical examination, the GHN Agency reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported earlier that the kidnappers of David Nadaraya, 24, a resident of Shamgon village of the Zugdidi District located in the West of Georgia asked for a ransom from his family in the sum of 50,000 US dollars. This information was made public by Raul Kiriya, head of the press service of the Government of the Abkhazian Autonomous Republic.

We remind you that the militaries of the Russian contingent of the CIS Peace-Making Forces promised to help the law enforcement bodies in investigating the attack of armed criminals on residents of the Georgian village of Shamgon. This was announced to journalists in Sukhumi by Lieutenant Colonel Evgeniy Roschin, representative of the staff of the CIS Collective Forces for Peace-Keeping in the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict zone.
