NATO mission to come to Georgia
Tomorrow, on September 7, a NATO delegation will arrive to Tbilisi, Revaz Beshidze, Georgia's representative in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, told journalists.
The delegation plans to study the status of the defence sphere in Georgia. "This is an expert group with a mission to assess the damage caused to Georgia from the viewpoint of its defence and security by the Russian aggression," the Regnum Agency quotes Mr Beshidze as saying.
On September 15-16, Tbilisi will also host the NATO Council session, held under presidency of the Alliance's Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, reports the "News-Georgia" Agency.
US Vice-President Richard Cheney during his visit to Tbilisi on September 4 promised financial help to Georgia and support in her attempts to join NATO.
