Investigation: no attempt to poison Politkovskaya's advocate

Karina Moskalenko, advocate of the family of the assassinated journalist Anna Politkovskaya, was not poisoned in France and, accordingly, there was no attempt on her life, police inspectors in the city of Strasbourg assert referencing to the former owner of the car now owned by Ms Moskalenko.

Earlier, it was reported that in France attempt on Karina Moskalenko was accomplished. In Moskalenko's car in Strasburg a mercury-like substance was detected.

On October 22, Radio Liberty reported that Karina Moskalenko did not insist on any versions of the incident, providing inspectors with the right to make conclusions.

Le Figaro writes today that the former owner of the car, now owned by Moskalenko, said that shortly before selling his car he had broken a mercury barometer in it. It follows from Karina Moskalenko's statements that she did not clean the car after purchase.
