Chechen MoI reports 10 militants killed in the republic within one month

During the last month, ten members of the armed units have been killed and 28 detained on the territory of the Chechen Republic. These data have been cited by Ruslan Alkhanov, Chechen minister of interior, at the meeting of chiefs of the power authorities in Grozny.

The minister has demanded that his subordinates must drastically enhance their work and warned that the chiefs of militia units and departments where the results of the year are lowest will be dismissed.

"Despite the fact that winter has come we should not relax in our work. We must enhance work of the criminal investigation and the public security militia, and, primarily, the work of the district militia service", cites the Chechen MoI press-service the minister's words.

Meanwhile, certain actions by the power authorities which are subsequently included into the reports as "special operations against militants" cause many questions among the republic's residents and human rights activists. The method of kidnapping the persons suspected of ties with the armed underground, adopted in North Caucasus, is gradually replaced with the method of their liquidation in the course of special operations.
