Human rights activists arrange holiday for Chechen orphan children
Activists of the Society for Russian-Chechen Friendship arranged a charity action in Chechnya's Shali district on February 2. It was devoted to Kurban-Bairam Holiday and was aimed at supporting families that bring up orphan children. In honor of the holiday, fathers of Chechen villages presented the leader of the Society's regional branch, Imran Ezhiev, with a cow. After the traditional offering ceremony, the animal's meat was distributed among 214 orphan children living in the villages of Stariye Atagi, Avtury, Serzhen-Yurt, and in the district center of Shali, Chechnya.
