CEC of Armenia refuses to nullify Yerevan elections

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia has refused to consider the application of the opposition demanding to recognize the outcomes elections to the Board of Elders of Yerevan null and void.

Head of the CEC Garegin Azaryan, while not denying violations admitted on May 31, has stated that their a significant part of them was eliminated right on the voting day. As reported by the "Gazeta.Ru", he found the complaints and applications submitted by the ANC not grounded enough for nullifying the election outcomes.

"The presented 370 pages of documents give no grounds to think about someone's possible influence on the voting outcomes," Mr Azaryan has emphasized.

The "PanARMENIAN" Agency adds that the head of the CEC sticks to the opinion that the ANC, by presenting to the CEC their multi-page package, pursued the aim to involve the Commission into a long bureaucratic red tape.
