Chechnya: terror act against militiamen
Two Russian militiamen and an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Chechnya were wounded on June 28 in the evening in Gudermes, the second largest city of Chechnya, in a land mine explosion.
"Yesterday, on June 28, at about 6 p.m., in Gudermes, in the area of Tereshkova Avenue, during passage of foot sentry group comprising both local militiamen and their colleagues sent to the republic from other regions of Russia, a powerful self-made explosive was triggered. As a result of the explosion, three militiamen received fragmental wounds of various gravity," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the Chechen MIA.
The victims are an employee of the patrol-sentry militia unit of the Gudermes District and two militiamen-cynologists from Tatarstan, who are on their service trip in Chechnya.
According to Mr Tsapko, he has serious health problems - an acute ulcer and dizziness. "But nobody is ever concerned. Nobody comes to me and reacts to my housing demands; however, court sessions and interrogations continue. I seriously think: for whom and whose sake did I serve? Nobody needs me and my family," the officer complained.
