Tkachov: road accidents are provoked by "trickster" license plates
Alexander Tkachov, Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, has demanded from militia to stop issuing the so-called "trickster" license plates to car owners, asserting that these drivers are most often breaking the traffic rules and provoke accidents. This was reported today by the press service of the territorial administration.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 1 another large accident happened in the Krasnodar territory, in which five persons died and one was hospitalized. The accident continued the range of tragic road accidents that happened in late July in the South Federal District (SFD).
The Governor held a sitting on road safety in the context of more frequent accidents in the Krasnodar Territory. Thus, in the end of July, on the mourning day over the Kuban residents, who perished in the Rostov Region, when a bus crushed into a camion, there were four large accidents in the region, in which 12 persons were lost and nine more were wounded," the "Kommersant" notes.
As a whole in July, as Mr Tkachov stated, there were 700 road accidents in the Territory, in which 123 persons were lost and almost 900 wounded, 40 percent more than in July last year.
