Advocate: inquiry into Akhmednabiyev's murder was stopped seven times
During two and a half years since the assassination of Akhmednabi Akhmednabiyev, a correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot" and deputy editor-in-chief of the "Novoe Delo", investigators have failed to identify any suspects; and the inquiry as such was neither prompt, nor thorough and nor independent, said the advocate Tumas Misakyan. He filed a complaint to the court, demanding to cancel the suspension of the inquiry into the murder of the journalist.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today's session was rescheduled for March 10, because of the absence of the prosecutor and the investigator.
Mr Misakyan said that he had appealed to the Sovietsky Court of Makhachkala on February 17.
According to his version, no thorough and effective inquiry had been held, which can be treated as investigators' idleness, which is illegal.
Akhmednabi Akhmednabiyev had worked as a correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot" for more than seven years, covering acute topics. Readers of the "Caucasian Knot" nominated him the first among ten equals in the contest "Hero of the Caucasus-2013".
Misakyan has noted that from the very beginning the inquiry was sluggish. In total, pre-trial investigatory authorities suspended the inquiry for seven times, which indicates the ineffectiveness of the inquiry.
