In Tbilisi, Nationalists throw eggs at opponents of "Russian fascism"

The rally against xenophobia, organized by the "European Georgia" Party, went without clashes, although supporters of the "March of the Georgians" tried to disrupt the rally and threw eggs and plastic bottles at the activists.

Today, two protest actions have been held in Agmashenebeli Avenue in the centre of Tbilisi, including a procession under the slogan "No Russian Fascism!" organized by the opposition parliamentary "European Georgia" Party and a contraction arranged by supporters of the "March of the Georgians", the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

By the slogan "No Russian Fascism!", the organizers of the action have pointed to the similarity of the "March of the Georgians" and the nationalistic "Russian March", which takes place in Russia. The march against xenophobia and violence gathered several hundred people.

"There will not be fascism in Georgia. Georgia is a free peaceful European country," said Elene Khoshtariya, an MP from the "European Georgia" Party.

According to David Bakradze, one of the leaders of "European Georgia" Party, with their demands, the participants of the "March of the Georgians" "trampled on Georgian values."

Leaders and members of the Republican Party and the "Free Democrats" Party joined the march organized by the "European Georgia" Party.
