In Georgia, five persons injured when using fireworks

On the New Year's Eve, three victims of pyrotechnic explosions had to undergo partial or complete amputation of their fingers.

In total, on January 1, five persons addressed hospitals with burns and injuries got in explosions of pyrotechnics. Firecrackers exploded in victims' hands.

All the victims addressed the hospitals within a small interval immediately after the midnight, the "News-Georgia" reports with reference to the spokesperson for the National Centre for Surgery.

On the eve of the New Year holidays, the Agency for Emergences of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), appealed to residents of the country with a request to be more careful when using petards, firecrackers and fireworks, the "Georgia Online" reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the first four days of 2017, 54 people were injured by pyrotechnics. Of them, two got fingers on their hands amputated.
