Law enforcers report details of a special operation in Stavropol
Members of the "Islamic State" (IS), a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court, who were killed in Stavropol, were plotting terror acts, and one of them fought in Syria during three years, the law enforcement bodies reported.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 19, the FSB of Russia reported that during the detention, members of the "Islamic State" (IS), a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court, rendered armed resistance and were killed.
On December 19, the details of the special operation conducted in Stavropol were reported at a meeting of the Stavropol anti-terrorist commission. According to the law enforcement bodies, the young men arrived in Stavropol on December 14, and on the same day, they rented an apartment in Voroshilov Avenue, the "Kommersant" reported on December 19.
According to the edition, the killed suspects have already been identified. Both of them were members of the "Islamic State", a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court. One of them got combat experience when he fought in Syria. According to the operational information, they were plotting terror acts to be committed during the New Year holidays and they were going to use Molotov cocktails as explosive devices, reported at the meeting Yuri Skvortsov, the deputy chair of the Government for the Stavropol Territory.
The article notes that at the meeting, it was also reported that fighters of the FSB Department tried to detain the young men in Pirogov Street, in close proximity to the forest. However, when offered to surrender, the suspects opened fire at the FSB fighters and tried to throw a grenade.
