Armenia announces attempt of Azerbaijani militaries' advance

Armed units of Armenia have opened a warning fire in response to the engineering works performed by the Azerbaijani party, the Armenian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has stated.

Earlier on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, the Azerbaijani MoD announced 22 shelling attacks committed by Armenia. According to the MoD, the Azerbaijani positions deployed on the border with Armenia and in the Karabakh conflict zone, came under fire.

Artsrun Ovannisyan, the press secretary of the Armenian MoD, said that "the Azerbaijani party had tried to perform engineering works at the frontline in the Tavush direction." "The Armenian party has opened a warning fire," Mr Ovannisyan wrote in his Facebook page.
