Georgian students throwing stones at peacemakers at the border with Abkhazia
On April 27, students of Georgian higher schools held another protest action near the Russian peacemaking post on the border with Abkhazia.
Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Diordiev, assistant to the commander of the CIS Collective Peacekeeping Forces in the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict zone, has informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that "this time the action declared as a peaceful one was of expressed aggressive and provocative character." Mr. Diordiev has also noted that "the demand of the protesters to release the three students detained by the Abkhazian party on March 1 have grown up into provocative actions directed against Russian peacemakers."
According to him, certain participants of the action threw stoned at peacemakers.
Three Georgian students - Iveri Korshiya, Koba Rigvava and Levan Gachava - were detained by Abkhazian frontier guards on March 1 in the Galskiy District of Abkhazia and accused of anti-Abkhazian propaganda.
