Capital of South Ossetia shelled, two persons wounded

The "Caucasian Knot" has informed that today at about 8:15 a.m., Georgian special agents opened aiming fire at the militia post in the northern suburb of the city of Tskhinval. As a result of the bombardment, one civil person and one militiaman were severely wounded.

Mikhail Mindzaev, Minister of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia, has emphasized that despite the heavy situation that arose at the militia post he ordered not to open the response fire.

Today, at about 12:00 a.m. and at 2:20 p.m., the peaceful Ossetian Kvernet village, Tskhinval District of South Ossetia, was shelled from the side of Tamarasheni village controlled by the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the "Caucasian Knot" own correspondent was informed at the on duty regiment of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of North Ossetia (RNO). As a result of the shelling, houses of peaceful residents were damages. According to the information available so far, there are no casualties.

"The information that we have and that we are now verifying indicates that in the Georgian city of Gori tanks are unloaded from railroad platforms; the tanks are deployed along the borders of South Ossetia," the "Interfax" broadcasts the words of Eduard Kokoity, President of South Ossetia.
