Ingush policemen suspected of extorting a large bribe

Two employees of the Nazran line division for transport of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) are suspected of extortion and receiving a bribe from a suspect in drug storing. The policemen are behind bars.

According to investigators, on May 18, the policemen demanded 300,000 roubles from a drug storage suspect for not conducting a check against him. At that moment, the suspect was at the police station. In the evening of the same day, his mother handed over the demanded sum of money to the police, the Investigating Department (ID) for Ingushetia of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has informed.

The policemen are suspected of extorting and receiving a large bribe. "The suspects have been detained. The court has chosen for them placing into custody as freedom restriction measure," says the statement posted on May 27 on the ID's website.
