On April 3-9, four persons perished and eight were wounded in armed conflict in Northern Caucasus
During the week of April 3-9, 2023, at least four people perished and eight others were wounded during the ongoing armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.
On April 3, at a farm in Malgobek, law enforcers found a grouping of alleged attackers on the DPS (road-and-patrol) traffic police post, but the suspects opened fire on law enforcers, wounded one of them and managed to escape. On April 3, a counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was announced in the Malgobek District of Ingushetia. On April 5, in the village of Zyazikov-Yurt, during the CTO, law enforcers found a grouping of alleged militants. At a detention attempt, they opened fire. Three law enforcers were killed and eight others were wounded.
The battle in Zyazikov-Yurt on April 5 became the second incident after August 2012, when in one day the law enforcers' losses made 11 persons; it follows from the chronicle of armed incidents in Ingushetia, which has been run by the "Caucasian Knot" since 2006 based on official information and open data.
Also on April 5, it became known that the body of allegedly Movsar Kottoev, who was put on the wanted list after the attack on the DPS post, was found. The attack was committed on the border of the two republics, Ingushetia and North Ossetia, but in the territory of the latter.
