Mother of Kevin Lik, convicted of treason, reports her son's disappearance from colony

The administration of the colony in the Arkhangelsk Region has failed to deliver a parcel to Kevin Lik, a resident of Adygea, convicted of treason, since he had left the colony.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 2, the 19-year-old Kevin Lik arrived to serve his term in the colony located in the Arkhangelsk Region. He stated that after he complained about being deprived of contact with the outside world, he received threats of physical violence.

Victoria Lik has reported that her son is not in the colony where he had served his sentence, noting that Kevin had no conflicts in the colony before that. "He was calm and cheerful when we talked," she has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on July 29, the advocate of Oleg Orlov*, a co-chairman of the "Memorial" Centre for Human Rights Defence**, could not meet his client at the SIZO (pre-trial prison) in Syzran.

Let us remind you that this June, Kevin Lik was convoyed from the SIZO in Krasnodar to the Arkhangelsk Region; his relatives complained that they had lost contact with him.

Lik was sentenced on December 28, 2023, to four years in jail. According to law enforcers, he had helped Germany in the activities directed against Russia's security: he monitored a local military unit and made photos of its deployment sites.

*Included by the Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) into the register of foreign agents.

**As reported on the website of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), the reason for including on March 1, 2024, the unregistered "Memorial" Centre for Human Rights Defence (CHRD) into the roster of foreign agents was the spread of "inaccurate information aimed at creating a negative image of the Russian Federation, as well as the Russian Armed Forces."
