Moscow City Court postpones the case hearing of Stomakhin, supporter of Chechen separatists
Today, the Moscow City Court has postponed consideration of the complaints lodged by the defence and accusation on the verdict to Boris Stomakhin, author of the "Kavkaz-Center" web site of Chechen separatists. The litigation cannot start as the first instance court - the Butyrskiy District Court - has failed to observe the required procedures at delivering the case to the Moscow City Court. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed about it by Alexander Maisuryan, a member of the public group for Stomakhin's defence and a participant of the Moscow Democratic Union.
The procedural violations of the Butyrskiy District Court of Moscow stem from the fact that the copies of the cassation complaint filed by Karen Nersesyan, Boris Stomakhin's advocate, were not handed over to all the parties in the case, and even the convict himself was not acquainted with the complaint. Therefore, to eliminate the violation and acquaint the participants of the process with this document, the hearing of the case was postponed till May 23. The session will start at 10 a.m.
