Decision on compensation to Andrei Keilin postponed in Stavropol Territory

The defence of Andrei Keilin, a resident of Karachaevo-Circassia, accused earlier of murdering two Stavropol students on June 3 this year, continues to demand compensation for illegal arrest of their client. Roman Belan, Mr Keilin's advocate, has informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about it today.

"So far, we've got no answer about initiation of a criminal case for his illegal arrest. Yes, we shall demand compensation," Mr Belan said. Meanwhile, the decision was postponed for objective reasons.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has informed that according to Mr Keilin himself, who was released on September 16, he was exposed to moral pressure during the investigation. No physical action was applied to him, and the authorities ordered "not to touch him with a finger" from the very first day. However, the moral pressure was serious: the guards of the public order did not restrain themselves in harsh words in relation to Andrei and his friends.
