Special operation conducted in Dagestan, there are casualties

Today, two suspect militants have been killed and one FSS officer perished in the course of a special operation conducted in the settlement of Novy Khushet in the outskirts of the Dagestan capital.

The combat action occurred in the "Pridorozhnaya" hotel located in the western side of Novy Khushet which is several kilometers from Makhachkala.

"The active phase of the special operation is over. Two militants have been killed. During the attack, one FSS officer has perished", reports representative of the Dagestan FSS unit public relations group to the "Interfax" agency.

Initially it was assumed that four militants were blocked in the hotel. The law enforcement officers state that they tried to negotiate with them, reports the agency "RIA Novosti".

The method of kidnapping the persons suspected of ties with the armed underground, adopted in North Caucasus, is gradually replaced with the method of their liquidation in the course of special operations. This tendency is clearly demonstrated in Dagestan and Ingushetia - the most unstable regions of Southern Russia today. Most casualties in the course of special operations occur in these two regions.
