New oppositional movement appears in Georgia
On July 10, prominent public figures of Georgia made a presentation of a new oppositional public movement named "Defend Georgia" ("Daitsavi Sakartvelo"), a peaceful change of power being its target.
According to David Magradze, leader of the public movement "Public Hall", since July 13, registration will start of those who wish to join the new oppositional movement. Chabua Amiredzhibi, a renowned Georgian writer, was presented as the honourable chairman of the movement.
"All the efforts of the movement will be towards free election," the "Gazeta.Ru" quotes Mr Magradze as saying.
The NGOs "Mother of Georgia", Creative Women's Association, Public Council, Nobility Assembly and Morals Foundation have already joined the new movement, as the "News-Georgia" writes.
